NICRN Primary Care Nurses Claire Leathem, Donna Hanlon and Marina Maxwell were delighted to be listed amongst the finalists in the the categories of “Innovators of the Year” and “Nursing Team of the Year” at the prestigious General Practice Awards.
The Awards, a combined initiative of the publications Management in Practice, GP Business and Nursing in Practice, acknowledge public and private sector success in the healthcare industry.
Finalists for each category were nominated from a shortlist of hundreds of applications. The black tie ceremony was held in London at the Hilton Park Lane. The evening’s compere, star of Have I Got News for You and Private Eye columnist, comedian and GP Dr Phil Hammond, entertained the finalists and winners throughout the evening and ensured laughter rang out well into the night. The keynote speech was delivered by Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham, who praised general practice staff around the country for continuing to deliver high quality patient care amidst a sea of change in the NHS.
